Devon Travelling Jam Club

We started 10 years ago playing every Monday at the Famous Old Barrel in Exmouth. That venue sadly no longer hosts live music due to the unreasonable levels that sound limiters have to be set at!! So on Mondays we now play at The Phoenix on Exeter Road, where we have a full band set-up.We also play on alternate Sunday afternoons in The Dolphin in Beer. This is more of an acoustic affair.Until the noise-limiter went in we had a monthly spot at The Castle in Axminster, too.We're always looking for new venues and new musicians.Our host is Chris Stuckey, who some of you may have seen play. Chris is very generous with his music and will play with ANYONE!! The rest of the house band changes weekly, depending on availability, but everyone's got the same chilled attitude.We welcome ALL musicians from ANY genre at any level of competence. Our house band is made up of some very talented players that can fit with what you want to play. Or you can come along and play solo or bring your band.We play quite an eclectic mix, ranging from Folk players on a sqeezebox, an Irish Pipes player, Singer/Songwriters and Blues/Classic Rock. We even allow Country & Western!!!Our only rule is that we respect each other and each other's music & equipment, whether you're the next Jack White or simply a chord strummer (like me!!). It's all good. All that matters is the music and the friendship.Come along, have a laugh, make some music. And don't be afraid to make mistakes or play badly. It'll all be better next week!!
