Ok lets see.....I don't smoke and live a pretty much a 100% drug free lifestyle which comes as a shock to some living in Los Angeles. Although I've been around every illegal substance known to man, I just choose to not put any in my system. We don't get to choose how to leave this planet, so my attitude is: why rush the process with those deadly toxins when theres enough in the air as it is!My background is primary in promotions/marketing even though I'm a graphic arts major, I just happened to get "sidetracked" by the music biz right outta high school. What a learning experience it was working for a company that dealt exclusively with Heavy Metal. During that time was a lot of college radio,conventions, promotions, retail, designing album covers and putting together compilations(like Metal Massacre ....) and signing bands one of which would go on to sell millions later on: The Goo Goo Dolls.Oh well "No Soup For Me!"I was proud of those years since I was given an opportunity to travel, work with bands directly, be surrounded by music 24/7 and meet other industry types from all over the world.In 1990 I was hired at Capitol Records, Inc under a new regime where eventually I was able to sign the Butthole Surfers from Texas (produced by John Paul Jones) and was given a golden opportunity to work with long time metal faves: Exodus, Megadeth, WASP, Iron Maiden and others on the roster.After that short stint there were ZERO music industry gigs to be had... anywhere. In hindsight I'm glad I got out then since the 'biz these days is in such turmoil with every company getting swallowed up and downsizing like crazy. Welcome to the world of the "Pink Slip" West Coast style.I did the band thing for awhile, wrote some songs, worked on my artwork etc, but slowly again finding myself venturing into an area that I had no intention of pursuing:TV/Film. Fun while it lasted.Presently I share my vast music collection by way of DJ-ing to simply try to put it all to some use. Its a perfect channel for me since rock n roll has taken a beating in the past years by way of Rap, Pop and whatever the latest trend happens to be.I current do a specialty show on Sundays for KNAC.COM called "The Vault" playing nothing but 100% Pure Rock!!
