Band Members: Many and varied.
Influences: My family is large and everyone loves music. Seminal records I remember include John Hurt, BB King, Miles, Flatt & Scruggs, Butterfield Blues Band, Hank, Bob Wills, Wolf, and Motown, then Will the Circle be Unbroken (especially Doc), Ralf and Carter Stanley, GP, American Beauty, and a compilation of hits by Bill Monroe.
Mando lessons from Bill Napier helped me out tremendously. He was a veteran of the Stanley Brothers and the Grand Old Opry, and he was living in Michigan when we met. He is my touchstone for mando.
Also the members of the Harmony Grits, have expanded my vision and range over the last 23 years, I really got into my bluegrass radio show on KAZU for 10 years, and the local excellent radio stations KPIG, KZSC, and KKUP are wonderful.
Sounds Like: Bill Monroe shaking hands with Howlin' Wolf as they try to wake up Elvis while listening to Sweetheart of the Rodeo on shrooms.
