Kayonne Riley plays mainly solo acoustic (guitar and vocal) shows recently, in the style of Americana, blues, country and jazz. For many years Kayonne fronted her own band, known as the Implications with a host of great Central Florida musicians, including brothers Fred and Jason Domulot on drums and bass, guitarists Tommy Calton, Greg Pakstis, and Frank Feranda, and keyboardist John Marsden. Laura Freeman was Kayonne's first writing collaborator, and, an original member of the Implications.Kayonne originally began music in Texas by studying piano under the direction of her piano-teaching mother - at the age of 4. That continued thru high school until she finally got dismissed from her later teacher - for non-practicing issues, and, for focusing too much on rebuilding a 1963 Chevy truck.Later came college and picking up a roommate's acoustic guitar. The guitar was subsequently owned by Kayonne in a trade - swapping it for an old futon with a burned hole in the middle. Good trade and the guitar is still in great playing condition.Upon relocating to Orlando, Florida. Kayonne spent many years in bars and venues playing mostly original blues and rock tunes, and a few well chosen covers. Economics forced turning the act into a solo show - and the happy result was more money, and a much better playing ability.Kayonne now makes rare public playing appearances and focuses on writing and recording more great original songs!
