Steve Sola/Plain Truth Ent. also know as the Mix King, is currently Co-Executive Producer of Prodigy’s (from Mobb Deep) album HNIC2. From his early beginnings as a guitarist to his days as a top-flight musical engineer, producer, and mixer, Steve has become a household name in the music business. Steve has contributed his talents as a producer, mix engineer, and musician on countless projects throughout his lifetime, which has made him a legend in the industry.Steve entered the Music business as a guitarist in the group Kyoto. He always had a deep understanding of the technical side of creating music. Steve began to take an interest in the production and engineering side of recording, which led him to produce and perform the engineering duties in the band. From this experience, Steve began to spread his wings and do the same for other acts. This exposure sparked a deeper interest and Steve became an intern at Music Palace, which is located on Long Island NY.While at Music Palace, Steve realized his talent and potential, and headed to the Big Apple for some real hands on experience. He sought a position at a studio that was entrenched in the HIP HOP scene. That turned out to be the world famous Soundtrack studio. It was here that Steve really cut his teeth. While at Soundtrack, Steve performed engineering duties for Nas, Mobb Deep and other major acts.Steve’s major breakthrough, and first defining project was Multi-Platinum R&B super Group’s Jodeci’s “The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel.” After this project, Steve took it to another level and joined forces with Rap super group Mobb Deep. From the early parts of their illustrious career to their current day status as a legendary Hip Hop tandem, Steve has been and will always be their, recoding engineer, producer, and MIX KING. For the last 11 years Steve has created their signature sound. Because of this relationship, Steve received his first production credit during the Murda Muzik album. That started his career as a Producer.After 15 gold, platinum and multi platinum records, Steve still remains the constant professional he was when he started. After writing the lead single “Struggle No More” for Tyler Perry’s movie and soundtrack “Daddy’s Little Girl” which featured Anthony Hamilton, Jaheim, and Music Soulchild, Steve was inspired to create his own record label.
