About Me

With a combination of '70s punk melodicism, '90s rock rawness, and surf-rock dance beats, The Boorays offer something for just about every kind of rock fan. Their music is contemporary yet evokes memories of early '60s, crossed with the late '70s and early '80s, and mixed with the '90s. Even the '50s don't go unnoticed by their clever use of 50's style artwork as seen in the album packaging and eye-catching flyers.Songs about flapjacks, playing frisbee, and driving dusty roads with your favorite gal. They deliver a new brand of pop/rock, with lots of harmonies and plenty of wit. "Decide", "Rocket to the Moon" and "You Move Me Like A Slug" became instant classics. And then there's the sad near-ballad "Pick-Up Truck" and Kaemmerlen's delirious lead yelping on "Stop Drop-N-Roll", initially released as singles only. Also the feedback-drenched harmonically rich "Band of Gold", the hypertensive "Catch Me, Keep Me", and a song about flapjacks, "Flapjack". And of course there's "Silence Earthman", the heir apparent to David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and the slinky jazz / subsonic rock feel of "Three A.M."For more information or to purchase CDs, go to http://www.brickhouse-acoustics.com/products/boorays/the_boo rays_main.htm
