Music has been a part of my life since I was a boy.
Singing in a Brooklyn schoolyard, on the corner and in hallways for that "great echo" effect . I sang in aschool musical when I was in the 5thgrade. I remember singing in front of amirror to Buddy Holly music. I cried
when he died.
Go back up and have a listen to it.
The Beatles & The Who came later. I was listening to "My Generation" while my friends were still on The 4 Seasons....that's when I knew I had to go to Greenwich Village to hear what I wanted to hear (and be who I wanted to be:)
I started working at The Filmore East which was the closest thing to heaven on earth for a musician. I enjoyed EVERY form of music that I was exposed to there.I got to work at Woodstock and that was amazing! All the musicians I met during those years helped to form my music.
I went to London with my best friend and Bassist, Little John Dykstra and joined Mickey Finn/Waller, Bob Weston,Keith Boyce . Together we formed "Finn".
We played The Speakeasy, and other London venues as well as the Cambridge May Ball with The Pretty Things. That was fun!
I met up with Keith again in LA when he was with Savoy Brown. Bob Weston was visiting and together we came up with Money Madness, a song that asked the question "What will you do with all that money when you die?" What do you do now?
Keith brought in old mates Barry Paul and John Humphreys and we really had something. We than added Phil Kenzie who arranged and played the sax section you hear on "Look Out Mister" and "That Ain't Right"
Caesar & The Pleasers is a result of my time with those very talented musicians who helped me to put together what I think is an excellent EP.
Hope you like it.
