The Making of 'No Regrets'

'No Regrets' is available now in the US and includes remarkable translation and interpretation of Edith Piaf's, 'Non, Je ne Regrette Rien', by Crawford and Sample in addition to other gospel-tinged jazz and blues arrangements with vocals. www.myspace.com/randycrawfordandjoesample

Mark Easterling guitarist here for Steve Azar: 'Flatlands' and others. I wish I had time to comment about my friend Mark because he certainly deserves it, however, please enjoy his guitar playing on these tunes for now.

Natalie (Leas) Klostermann has recorded praise and worship songs recently and now is working on a swing and cool jazz project. Natalie was a saxophonist before she was a vocalist so I always have lots of respect for her and she and I go back a long, long, time. Natalie graduated Simi High Class of 1967 and was a classmate of my eldest and special needs sister Regina: Natalie is the only student Regina ever paid any attention to and is the only classmate my sister has ever asked me about during the past decades. Natalie's cool and I'm having fun working on her new project.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Stephane Grappelli, 'Blue Moon'; Live, Australia, 1990; Martin Taylor, guitar, John Burr, bass.

Here's some bigtime fun for you today to give a listen to and heartily enjoy. The 26 year-old conductor here, Gustavo Dudamel, is now LA Philharmonic's director and has replaced Esa-Pekka Salonen. The children here are from his previous orchestra, The famous Venezuela Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra; the children practice after they finish their schoolwork and do not get to take their instruments home because it is too dangerous as they may be robbed, etcetera. The music program has a very interesting history which is available at the link below video. ENJOY!

Information about Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra and El Sistema is provided from the BBC News. It has been noted that famous operatic tenor,Placido Domingo, cried when he heard the childrens' Orchestra.
