Born in New Jersey and raised in North Carolina, 22 year old A-Styles (born Alex Steins) has been cooking up some current productions from his Davidson, N.C. studio. Having a love for hip hop as early as 2nd grade listening to Coolio, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Biggie, Wu Tang Clan, and Busta Rhymes, A-Styles would plead with his father to buy him their albums and then would practice memorizing all the lyrics. By 5th grade The aspiring producer started writing his own lyrics in place of the original artist. Later on that year he was at a friends house when his friends father pulled out a guitar and starting playing. Striking A-Styles interest he asked if his buddy's father would teach him a song and learned how to play "my girl."He received his first guitar from a pawn shop at the age of 13 and later joined a punk band called The Finx. Stepping into new genre's of music was no problem for A-Styles since he has always liked a little bit of everything. Still being very involved in his traveling soccer team and skate boarding A-Styles felt he should choose one to stick with.“I had a couple things I felt I was good at at a young age skateboarding, soccer, or creating music," A-Styles said. "I said to myself, 'Which one do I want to do the most?’ and I had a gut feeling about music.†A-Styles had dropped everything and dedicated himself to the band. After a couple years of playing together the band slowly split as A-Styles was just getting started with his career, he now ran into a delemma. Now being a x-guitarist/singer and in a punk rock state of mind A-Styles was having trouble figuring out what was next until freshman year at high school when his sister’s boyfriend would give him a lift in the mornings and relentlessly play Ludacris’ Word of Mouf.
Inspired by Ludacris’ flow, unique production, and already being familiar with hip hop he started writing raps to industry beats as he once did in the past. A-Styles improved until his name became known around school. He would host parties with himself as a MC and it proved to be a demanded entertainer to his peers. He was known around school for his rap skill and a song called "The kingdom of the hard knocks" that was the crowed favorite.“I loved doing it,†A-Styles said, “I loved the the feeling I would get.â€Tired of using other artist music, A-Styles asked for a beat machine for his 15th birthday. He manage to buy a keyboard, 4 track recorder, and microphone from local pawn shops and was ready to start something new.
Over time A-Styles moved into producing, and rapping took the backseat. He would like to get behind the mic again, but not now, he said.A-Styles Started promoting himself at a local club every time there was a big show. Because of the business A-Styles brought in the club by performing when they had first opened, the pleased owners would sneak him in the VIP to meet the celebrities and give them his demo. Eventually A-Styles met with the ying yang twins and they took interest and went back to his house after a show to see what he could do.Since then A-Styles has been working non stop creating tracks for the ying yang twins along with Da Muzicianz with singles "Wild Out" and "Beat It" and is moving forward meeting new artist and charging into the industry at full speed.
