High Off The Dancehalls

About Me

Welcome to the High Off the Dancehalls myspace.
Chelmsford town centre – in the past has been a depressing state of affairs, with regards to music and culture. The choice of Dukes or Edwards for Friday night out leaves you reaching for a knife.
However in the past year or so club nights offering excellent music both of a live and DJ nature have been emerging all over Chelmsford. Places where you can drink without fear of a moronic thug giving you abuse for not dressing and looking like a cheap David Beckham. Places where people genuinely come together to dance and feel like there sharing a wicked night out.
Our club night is part of this new batch of nights in Chelmsford and once a month we bring you bands from beyond our county's borders and some from within.
Our resident DJs take you dancing into the night until 2am. Playing the latest mash ups, remixes, Electro and an anything goes policy to dance music and beyond.
Chelmsfordians no longer will you have to suffer in silence as High Off The Dancehalls is here once a month. A place where the non violent, law abiding, forward thinking, culture loving, music obsessed, soft centred, sane human being NO LONGER fears to tread. Chelmsford just got allot better. Get off your ass and come and enjoy it.
And we are pleased to announce that High Off The Dancehalls is moving to Barhouse. Check the top friends for more info on this exciting new venue.
We now have a facebook group:

Saturday 6th June
High Off The Dancehalls returns but this time, with a slight twist. We are teaming up with our very good friends and fellow club night BandCrash to bring you.... High Off The BandCrash.
FUN AND FROLICS ALL DAY LONG!!!
After weeks of careful planning and delicate negotiations, the lovely people who bring you BandCrash, High Off The Dancehalls and Panic magazine can proudly unveil their mighty all-dayer, featuring:
Cat House * Fighting Cocks * Fenech Soler * Library Suits * My Tiger My Timing * For The Great And The Good * Things We Lost In The Fire * Miss Cosmos * My Pet Sushi * Sans Wilfred * Paolo * David Harvey * Dinosaur Act *
What a line-up, plus there'll be the Mustard grill and a cake stall out back to keep you fed. The first band is on at 3pm and entry is free all afternoon and evening until 8pm, then £5 after that which includes entry to Club Revolver's brilliant indie rock club night upstairs. Following the live bands downstairs, music will continue from Cat House DJs and 82nd Ave. It's going to be uber fun so get involved and tell your friends.
The debut single ‘Tribe’ by HOTD hosts Cat House is now available on Barhouse records priced £2. To order your copy go to www.myspace.com/cathousetheband or pop into Barhouse and pick up a copy.
