About Me
Dupree was born and raised in the Creek(C.N.G.), a particularly rough neighborhood on the east side of Fort Worth, TX. He originally planned on having a background role in the music industry -- as a businessman, not as a rapper. Before even stepping into a studio to record anything, he helped promote Pink Slip Records out of Houston, TX. Feeling as though the rap game had become a watered-down, formula driven version of itself, Dupree felt like he could bring back the genuine voice and true flavor of the South. He signed with Pink Slip Records because he saw that new and upcoming group, 5th Flow, shared his vision of bringing true hip-hop back to the rap game, and in 2008 released his first independently distributed debut single, Fade Away feat. Lil' Steve. His inspiration for wanting to rap came from various artists including: Ludacris, 8Ball & MJG, Outkast, Snoop Dogg & Tha Dog Pound, Ice Cube, and The D.O.C. Musically speaking however, UGK, Scarface, Z-RO, Trae, Chamillionaire, Coop MC, and Twisted Black -- also Texas natives -- had the biggest impact on him.
