The Last Hombres

About Me

The Last Hombres came on the scene in 2003 with their well received release "Redemption" on Koch records. It was a musical payoff for the two founders after years of on and off collabatration and spirited musical misadventures. The pair, who had played together in high school, reunited in 1995 and began writing their brand of literate, rootsy songs......Then hooking up with Russ Seeger, the master of the B-Bender Telecaster, a veteran song writer... They then connected with legendary drummer Levon Helm of The Band, for "Redemption"and started filling rooms from Boston to Philly...Playing and paying dues in the great Roadhouses that still haunt the landscape of America........ with a home base in NYC and Long Island........ In early 2006, the original members decided to extend their performing hiatus indefinitely...................... The bandmates continue to write songs but are currently drifting into separate projects..... Michael Meehan is playing bass with 'The Lost Highway Band', working on an alt. country project and can soon be seen at a saloon near you .............Paul Schmitz is currently embroiled in an International Law Suit trying to get his Band name back 'NUD' From the Bulgarian band 'NUD' Even offering them a cooler name like 'The Bulgarian Bandits'...More later on that....Russ Seeger is learning Bach on the piano and out with his band........Levon Helm Is still up in Woodstock doing his Midnight Rambles.......www.levonhelm.com and get tickets for those shows.... Watch for new musical adventures from all the former Hombes, and check back for obscure live cuts and annual reunion rumors here on myspace....... In the meantime, enjoy a live track from the "Por La Vida" benefit at the Mercury Lounge as well as their signature “Redemption” song, King of Memphis…....................“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.” Hunter S. ThompsonLayout powered by HOT FreeLayouts
