Oceans Over Airplanes

Oceans Over Airplanes (formerly known as The CoverUP) is an Indie Rock band that calls the Chicago-land area home. Though Oceans Over Airplanes has only been a band for just over a year, this young quartet (with an average age of 25) has crafted an EP that sounds very aware and honest. Singer / songwriter / guitarist Tony Pagorek, who began the band as a solo act, prides the band’s Midwest brand of Indie Rock as emotionally charged and thus in turn has an ability to connect with fans on a unique level. In a time of music that relies heavily on overproduced studio albums and numerous cheap formulaic tricks, OOA attempts to push music back to a simpler form that once again puts a story and message back into songwriting. OOA is serious on being OOA and no one else. The band began as a secret while Pagorek and Ostrowski played in other projects. A few weeks later they added “the ringer”, Joe Muzyka, a talented young guitarist whose gift of melody soon transformed every song. Russ Gasper, the newest member, recently joined as the bassist and things are sounding better than ever.
