Trio Ginga

Trio Ginga is what happens when three professionals get together and play Brazilian music the way it is supposed to be played...with passion, conviction and Brazilian swing. Percussionist and leader Dann Sheriill has been a professional musician based in Nashville for well over 20 years. He shares performance and production credits with such greats as Steve Winwood, Percy Sledge, Engelbert Humperdinck, Nino Segarra, Bonnie Bramlett, and Mel Tillis.Guitarist Mario DaSilva is from Sao Paulo, Brazil, one of the largest cities in the world. Mario grew up listening and playing samba & bossa nova, the music of Brazil's urban environment but also has roots in playing the music of the north, forro and baiao. Early in life he was bitten by the Flamenco bug and pursued the learning of the Spanish guitar style with great passion. Mario's expertise in Flamenco gives him the chops to play anything he hears when we play Brazilian music together. He is a true virtuoso in the mold of Baden Powell.The most recent addition to Trio Ginga is guitarist Otto Stoy. This guy brings an incredible amount of virtuosity to the band. Like Mario, he brings a deep knowledge of not only Brazilian music but Flamenco as well. Otto and Mario together are a match made in heaven.
