About Me

MANIFESTO ....PRESCRIPTION PHILOSOPHYAs God has said through man, life is rhythm and tone. Rhythm is the pace we follow and tone is the vibration that we, as individuals send out into the universe. We as creatures of this planet are very unaware of the power that we have as individuals. Though life teaches us many positive lessons through different stages in time, there is a lot that we do not acknowledge in ourselves and in our surroundings due to the limitations of truly being able to first discern and then control our natural selves. It is natural for man to be able to educate his or her self properly throughout mankind's cultivation of existence. We as a culture do believe that though this cultivation is not divinely designed for us to live within the limitations of society's mentality and training. It is only when man decides to live his life alternatively and quest along his own path that he can truly let God be God and let the natural vibration of man harmonize and complement the divine nature of being.Time has taught us many things but none has been more impressive than the energy that God the Sustainer has allowed us to experience collectively on the dance floors of the institutions that dance culture has brought to earth. These educational facilities vehicled the birth of a new self-expression as well as a new passion for living. They, along with the vibration and power of the teachers who taught lessons of life and music, were effective on and off the dance floor. These teachers were able to drum up the spiritual instincts inside of the family that attended their classrooms faithfully and captivated those who crossed paths with the experience in their quest for release. These after hours clubs, also known sanctuaries, introduced the meaning and feeling behind the many musical prophets that have blessed us with their energy and visions.By bringing to life the actual emotion and vision harnessed inside each word spoken and each vibration created, the education began with the surfacing of the consciousness in songs like "Slave to the Rhythm" by Grace Jones, "Keep On" by D Train and "Reach Up" by Toney Lee and continued with the regeneration of the emotion energy underneath songs like "What Am I Missing" by Chaka Khan or "Should Have Known Better" by T.C. Curtis. The power of the dance floor gave one an appreciation of music as an art and as a Spirit through instrumentation and dramatic vocal presentation. This presence and ambience manifested a theatrical state of being for all who crossed the threshold and in turn, everyone became a character in a scene created by life, giving the participants a meaningful role on the stage of the mind and dance floor.Prescription Records: "Everyone has different needs." Prescription presents a cultivation and captivation of new experiences and energy to the listener. Prescription is a conglomeration of many elemental basic rhythms, emotions and elastic realities created for the living room of existence. The focal point of this entity is to deliver you into an unlimited state of mind by stimulating what you once knew before into what you know in the present. Created for the roots living unconditionally inside everyone, Prescription gives back what was once lost in the natural understanding that music is the foundation of life. And it is all about the music. With much love and unlimited amount of emotion, Prescription gives special thanks to those who have brought their spirit and energy to this earth, giving an educational value to life and living through musical emotions as creators and re-creators.

Influences:DEEP DOWNIs a tribute to Ron Hardy, recorded in London in 2006. It was collective of Ron Trent, Simbad, Jeremy Newall. An impromptu session. We started working on the tunes after talking about times in Chicago. Robert Owens was good friends with Ron Hardy since the late 70's before Ron's budding career in Chicago.... before he became a legend. His power, his energy, his spirit .. was in the studio with us that night ....RON HARDY BIORon Hardy is the only man who can test Frankie Knuckles' status as Godfather of Chicago House Music. Though he rarely recorded under his own name and left little evidence of his life, Hardy was the major name for Chicago's dance music from the late '70s to the mid-'80s. By 1974, he had already effected a continuous music mix with reel-to-reel machines plus a dual-turntable setup at the club Den One. Several years later, Hardy played with Knuckles at a club called the Warehouse and though he spent several years in Los Angeles, he later returned to Chicago to open his own club along with Robert Williams, the Music Box.While Knuckles was translating disco and the emerging house music to a straight, southside audience at the Power Plant, Hardy's 72-hour mix sessions and flamboyant party lifestyle fit in well with the uptown, mostly gay audience at the Music Box. A roll-call of major Chicago producers including Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard, Adonis, Phuture's DJ Pierre and Chip E all debuted their compositions by pressing up acetates or reel-to-reel copies for Hardy to play during the mid-'80s. Lingering problems with heroin addiction forced him to leave the Music Box around 1986 and though he continued to DJ around the area, Hardy wasn't around when Chicago became house music's mecca later in the decade.Deejay Ron Hardy died in 1991, and that's the only reason why he's not a star today. With the clubs he's been spinning for (especially the Music Box from 1983 to 1988), he was drawing the way of the new sounds of the night. Something was definitely changing, and he was part of the change. You know that one day 'Jack Has a Groove'... but did you really know when late Disco turned into early House music? Ron Hardy was it. Icon of the gay House nights of Chicago, that man was a deejay like some others are monk... it was everything for him, a sort of religion. Mixing speedy electro-pop with accelerated disco, edited disco-classics with acid tracks, when other deejays used to mix it warm... he used to mix it cold. One of his very close friends told me that he was almost never sleeping... mixing records all the time, doing weird things with his turntables. There was about nothing in his appartment, nothing but black shiny records, and a bed... and that for years since the 70's when he left for westcoast, the 80's when he came back to Chicago, until 91 when everything stopped. Too much drugs and awaken nights... he killed his own batteries for the music. At least we still have the tapes of his talent and the memories of his friends.Look BeyondWas created almost 2 years ago ... a big hit over Southport Weekender 2006.Video Ron Trent @ Southport (Look Beyond)FROM ABOVEBy popular demand, for the Prescription release is the long awaited 12", Cinematic Travels album released in Japan in 2007 featuring From Above and World Travels.Cinematic Travels
