My name is Abia, I am of an ancient race of vampires known as the Danag. My people come from the archipelago known during the time of the Sultans as the land of Ma'i now called the Philippine Islands. For centuries we lived and worked alongside human kind, we showed man how to plant taro. Legend has it that one day, hundreds of years ago a woman cut her finger while in the fields. One of my tribe came to her aid and sucked at the wound. So delighted was he at the taste of her blood that he drained her dry. Since then we have fed on the blood of humans and became immortal.
Many have come to our islands to rape, pillage and conquer in the name of their king or country. We saw our temples fall, our lands taken away, our very names and identity changed forever. For centuries we watched and waited in the shadows.
