About Me

I've been writing songs for 2 years now and enjoy it immensely when it comes off. This is rare however. The only thing that spoils them is my flat voice and out of tune dodgy guitar playing, but hopefully you can see past that. My plan is to get a talented singer/guitarist to overhaul my songs, but this won't happen any time soon. Anyway, have a listen and see what you think...Planet sound on channel 4 teletext recently gave me this review!by John Earls CAPE COD Campfire Songs 7/10 myspace.com/capecodacoustic "The Marine Girls revival starts here," says Cod, aka Glaswegian singer Kes.Quite right too, if this fragile little acoustic gem gets him any interest.True, Kes' guitars are so brittle they're barely there and he needs some fleshing out. But, in two minutes, he fits worlds of intensity into a quiet sigh and throws out sweet couplets many bands would base whole albums on.

Work in progress

I'm currently working on two songs. One about early mornings spent with an ex in Dunkin Donuts and another about singing songs alone in the rain. Hopefully they should be completed sometime this week!

Hillhead

New song, Hillhead, is about seeing a girl in the West End of Glasgow years ago when I was 18. It switches perspectives between daydreaming about actually having spoke to her and dated her and the sad...

Pickin’ Strawberries

New song up called Pickin' Strawberries, about fruit gathering during a holiday which never happened. The vocal is well dodgy and I just about hold onto the chords. It's a bit more aggressive in style...

Coming soon

Should have two new songs up fairly soon. One is called "Weather Girl" about an infatuation with a weather girl, funnily enough. It was actually based on an infatuation with a Sky Sports News presente...
