5 guitar players later, Fail Me Not is finally a real band. Cory and Chris were the first band members. Both started playing in early 2001. Blink-182 covers being their specialty, they practiced at least once a week. The first guitar player that joined them was one of their best friends and classmates at the time. They never really had any songs of their own, just covers. Eventually, he moved to Florida, and there went guitar player 1. A while later Chris met someone at his job that he became friends with, who played guitar, and enjoyed the same type of music. This new guitar player was in another band (One Small Hero) at the time but agreed to stop by and play. Well things went great, but since he had another band commitment, there went guitar player 2.Next came the big screw job. A friend of Chris and Cory, Nick, was friends with someone who played guitar, who wanted to start playing the kind of music that the two exsisting members were in to. He was also in another band, but wanted to start a side project of sorts. So he was invited to play, and again, things went great. For the first time, the start of an original song was put together. The problem was, the guitar player went back to his old band and recorded our song with them...ouch. Buh bye guitar player 3. Shortly after the screw job, Cory bumped into an old friend/classmate of his at his job. Turns out he also played guitar, and was invited to play. Well, things went alright, but the new guitar player wasn't really into the same type of music as the rest of the band, so the enthusiasm level wasn't really that high. Well, a friend of the new guitar player (who also played guitar) actually liked the same kind of music as the rest of the band, and wanted to play alot more than our current guitar player. So out went guitar player 4, and in came guitar player 5.This guitar player was the most promising of the 5 total players. He was into the same music as Cory and Chris, and we had 7 songs (musically) written. Things were going great, and everyone practiced almost everyday. A name was even thought of: Eventual Let Down. Well, of course things had to go wrong. Eventually, the new guitar player's enthusiasm dropped, and the excitement of playing everyday wore out on his side. Things sucked for a while, and then to top it off, he got injured at his job and could barely walk, much less play guitar. So guitar player 5 was gone.So after the big heart-breaking story, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Guitar player 2, Jim Trocchio, got in contact with Chris again. Turns out his old band broke up for good, and he was looking to play again. Well, things went great the first time, so of course we invited him back. Things went great again of course, and Jim could also sing. Guitar player 6, or 2, was in the band. The name Eventual Let Down was dropped along with guitar player 5, and Fail Me Not was created in its place. Finally having an actual band, with a guitarist and a singer, Fail Me Not was ready to make great music......but the story doesn't end there. Jim showed up to practice one day with some news. He said he found someone that wanted to play guitar with us, and sing for us. Cory and Chris were immediatly against the idea, and thought a 3-piece band was the way to go. Well Jim brought a CD of this guy with him to try and sway their opinions, and it definitely worked. This new guy's name was Mike, and everyone in the band thought his voice was amazing. So of course, Mike was invited to play, and was immediatly added to the lineup. With a great voice to add to the great music, Fail Me Not is complete........That's how it all started....We've been broke up now for a couple years, But never did get to really let anyone hear our cd that we finished at the point of the whole break up. The Chain Reaction Year EP was so much fun to make and have so many friends involved in the whole process from the spacepimps hookin us up with such a great studio to random pgh friends stoping in along the way. And an amazing producer Dave Bjornson...Hope you enjoy!
