Music is love that transcends infatuation.

About Me

Dave has been in the scene since the summer of 99. Self taught in everything he knows and has learned up until now. Though before those days he was a true believer of what real music has to offer. Still independant and using what free time he has for innovation, Dave has built up a nice portfolio of tracks and beats throughout the years. In 1999 he moved from Southern Ontario, Canada to Arnhem, The Netherlands for a change of scenery and life style. Feeling isolated due to language and culture differences he began to write as an outlet to gain a better understanding of himself, what he had learned so far and his surroundings. Occasionally he would jump into a few local open mic sessions and received on every occasion positive feedback. Through that he met and began working with Mr. Ramble, who became his close friend and who also shared the same visions on things. However after a few sessions they realized that they needed beats, and not just mix tape beats but their own beats. So in 2002 Dave began beat creating, with no knowledge at all and picking up the tricks of the trade he needed as he went along he began to make progress. For the next 2 years all he did was work on his beat making skills by listening, sampling, programming and engineering. At the end of 2004 he took on a project with a formation formally known as the One Dunz, this was a project which lasted only two years, not long after their album was released in March 2006, they broke up. However in those two years he took a ride under the wing of Eka the Mad Samplist (who was the main producer for the album) and improved his beat creating skills. Since then he has decided to network locally and internationally and produce beats and random tracks in his home studio in Arnhem. In November of 2007 Dave finally decided to make it official and finalize his name as Dave Redi. Through his local network he linked up with with some beat creators known as ZwerfKat which consists of two members, Iemond Anders and Jeejaa. Upon hearing their beats he decided to take a step back as far as beat creating goes and focus more on writing again. At the age of 26 and mainly working with Jeejaa for his current project, Dave Redi has finaly discovered himself, the sound and direction he would truely like to create. A Soulful laid back vibe with a mixture of Funk, Jazz and Hip Hop with his thoughts and characterized rhymes to top it all off. He is not trying to portray something which is not real, he is not a gangsta, hustler, playa or what ever label most artists try to earn and portray these days. Although he did go through a lot growing up, he is not trying to root his music through bad experiences. Dave is just Dave take it or leave, as he always says. Through his music he wishes to touch people with good vibes, common sense and allow them to get to know him and who he is as a person and not as a made up industry figure created for album sales and revenue.
