What is perverted concepts?

I recently began exploring the world of Kink and alternative lifestyles, and the first thing that struck me was how much information that is available on the web quickly followed by how difficult this information is to find. So in my infinite wisdom (tongue in cheek) I decided on a wonderful little solution. This became the premise for Whap IT a link sharing community for the alternative and kink life styles.

Well being the master of over doing things I could not possibly just build a website I had to form a production house to give my creations some structure and to allow for congruency to anything I choose to build in the future.

By the way that reminds me. If you follow any of the numerous links on this page to www.pervertedconcepts.com there is a little news letter you can sign up for to stay informed on anything else I decide to produce so please do so.

Anyways so a few days ago (April 11th, 2008 to be exact) I created the home site for Perverted Creations.

Along with doing website creation and production it is strikingly apparent that this community is in dire need of some of things I have a knack for. So I wanted a place where people could contact me for specific needs. Now although I do do ( I said do do) some things out of the pure joy of being creative I do have bills and for some strange reason my creditors require actual cash payment so primarily I am looking for Free Lance contract work through this company.

Although if I am offered to work on something interesting to me or something that would give Perverted Concepts and the endeavors of this company some needed exposure I would love to hear about it.

Perverted Concepts is not in the business of creating pornography and at the same time the company is founded on the understanding that eroticism is not a four letter word. That society should not dictate what an individual does in the privacy of his own home, or dungeon, or convention hall, or hell as long as consenting adults are the only people involved.

It is the belief of this company that the Human sex drive is not only powerful but vital and those individuals who chose to explore it shamelessly should be applauded for their courage. They are in fact doing things that many people dream of but have unfortunately been crippled by a perceived stigma about sexuality.

The company is designed to offer a wide range of services to the kink community. Right now I of course am the only member of the Production House but I am willing to entertain taking on individuals who wish to join in.

My skill set includes the creation of web 2.0 communities, online shopping systems, graphic design, video production, t-shirt design, logo creation, web site design, podcasting, blog setup and customization, and of course working with several Content Management Systems. I pretty much Rock yeah I know. (oh and I am a tad sarcastic).

Best of all is my ability for concept development and I have some experience in Web 2.0 marketing strategies. Oh and User Interface design. I do go on…

Actually best of all and one of the founding principles of Perverted Concepts is open-mindedness and an attitude of acceptance for any individual requesting work.

Although any business is a collection of people we do try our best to achieve such a lofty ideal.

Who is John?

I was born a poor black child – that’s a line from “The Jerk” staring Steve Martin to you youngins I am not racist.

Seriously. I try not to take things to seriously but sometimes fail miserably at this. It takes allot of work in this society that seems to constantly bombard us with messages that we are not only not good enough but that the world is out to get us. Terrorist are plotting. People are starving. And if you use the right cologne beautiful women will flock to you… of course everyone says they have the right cologne making things very confusing.

Well how about a little history. As if you really care. I grew up in New England. Yes I am a yanky (you know the guys that won the war… HAH). Ok now I am gonna get my ass kicked. Well if it’s the right female I might just like it. It is very cold up there so I spent allot of time inside with my crazy family (god bless em) meaning I spent allot of time by myself. Well if you have ever been a teenage boy who spends allot of time alone you start to ponder things. Hence my fascination with Kink.

Ok moving ahead I moved to Texas with my family at about 16 and really learned to like it here. Its warm here which means women wear less clothing and look healthy with nice skin. Trust me you don’t want to see what 20 years of -1 degree wind chill will do to someone’s skin. I graduated from high school and went to three different universities. I studied several different topics. Most of my collage career was studying Biology and Chemistry, but I also studied Psychology and Design. I am the kind of person who has a hard time doing things I don’t like. Well I never graduated after accumulating over 155 hours I pretty much had only my foreign language requirement left. Since I strongly dislike this topic I just stopped going. Besides its not what I ended up doing anyways.

I then went on to work in several different industries. I did some group counseling for substance abuse individuals, I worked tech support for Comp USA, but finally I found my calling in the late 90’s doing website design. I didn’t get paid for it but loved doing it and quickly learned html, css, and Flash. Fun Stuff. I put up allot of sites and yet continued doing other things to pay the bills.

Well one thing I have learned that if you have a passion for something do it and don’t focus on the money side it will eventually take care of itself. So over the years I taught myself some other technologies like Php and became highly skilled in the Adobe Creative suite. Also fun stuff.

Ok bored yet.

Well I developed several websites about 2 years ago that sold for a little bit of money (very little). I also had a t-shirt shop which I sold. Fortunately I got on as a consultant to a company in LA that allowed me to work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule. Almost to flexible to keep me out of trouble so I started attending some BDSM munches here in Dallas.

I was amazed at how “normal” the people in community are. Visions of drugged out people lost in a world of wonton perversion where quickly shattered as I learned that these where normal people simply having fun with sex. I also learn that there was a strong undertone of positive sexuality combined with loving communication within the community. The relationships that these people had where somewhat foreign to me as they seemed to communicate on a different level then the vanilla world.

So here I am.

If you want to know my interests. My experiences. Or anything else you will have to ask. I will however say this. I don’t like boxes. Not the kind you lock people in and poke sticks at them. No the kind that other people want to place you in so they can classify you and their world suddenly makes sense.

So if you message me and ask if I am a banana or an apple my answer will probably be a little bit of both, with some grapes, tangerines, and maybe even motor oil mixed in for consistency… depending on what we are doing with it… hehe.

Well basically it is a Digg clone designed for the kink and Alternative lifestyle community. Now for those of you who have not used a service like this before it is pretty simple if you find a good site on the web you can add it to the site once you have signed up so other people can share in the goodness.

But that’s not all like the website it was fashioned after you can describe it so other people can read a little bit about the site and decide it the want to check it out or not.

Share all your great alt and kink lifestyle links on this site now!Think I am done sounds pretty cool so far huh? Well there is more. The visitors on the site can vote for it raising its placement in the site ranking. You can also view the listed sites by popularity if you like for a given time period.

You can also comment on sites so not only the posters opinion is shown on the site. These types of community sites are becoming quite popular as search engines are having a harder time discerning valuable content.

Finally you can bash a site by clicking Bash IT. This will lower the ranking of a site and eventually drop it completely from the listing if it has been bashed to many times. Spammers hate this feature.

Now this is actually a beta release so it could be a little buggy but I encourage you to go and share all your great alt and kink lifestyle links on this site now!
