Doublegone Johnson are starting to build some momentum on the North West scene. 2009 has seen a solidified line-up play gigs in Preston, Lancaster and Leeds with Liverpool and Manchester on the horizon (amongst others).
Johnathan M.Twist brings a huge amount of songwriting creativity and a passionate and energetic live presence to the band. His lyrics often deal with stories and characters and his delivery is heartfelt and sincere.
Will Thomson (Asylum, Raffertys Rules) is a brilliant all-around musician and his guitar playing really is the key element of the 'Doublegone' sound.
Will has jammed or played with well over 100 musicians and has played with so many bands that he has probably lost count. Known as much for his sense of humour and mischeivous personality as his playing, Will is not ashamed to be a ROCK STAR!!!
Underpinned by bassist Weston (Raffertys Rules) who has a great ear for dynamics and arrangements and hard-hitting drummer Morris, both of whom are more than capable/able in the songwriting stakes too - the band is a democracy in the way that bands SHOULD be.
Everyone gets stuck in and writing sessions often produce more than one song at a time. New material is coming together quickly for the band as they continue to augment their live set.
Having recorded at Binary Cell Studios in Liverpool with well-respected producer Mark Brocklesby earlier in 2009, Doublegone Johnson are now returning to the studio to complete work on their debut album.
The band are going to be busy recording for the time being, whilst making some limited live appearances - the new year will mark an increase in the frequency of their gigs and a single through i-Tunes once the work on the album is complete.
