August 2007 Bruno (guitar) met Joao (Drums) in a music studio located in Brussels. They were playing along during a casting organised by a female singer who wanted to create a new Rock Band. However, this session wouldn’t last more than one time, but Bruno and Joao kept in touch and decided to organize little jam sessions. Two weeks later, Bruno invite Benoit (Bass guitar), his childhood’s friend, to play with them. From this combination of different kind of influence, the first composition of EARTHLIGHT was born… Along those Jam sessions, a Voice was needed and several castings were organised.
During the month of October, their choice was made. They turned their decision to Valérie. An original female “Mezzo†voice, singing amazingly high, could catch their attention and give to the band a new form of music. Mixing Opera voices, to Metal guitars with some leads of jazzy-classical drums&bass beats. Our four musician choose this enigmatic name of EARTHLIGHT and their first song, arranged together, was born « SEUL(E) ».
In April 2008, the band counts, already, 3 new songs, but they realized that a certain melodic part is missing to complete those beautiful harmonies. Therefore, they were looking for a keyboard. … Julien, non-closer parent of Benoit, came into the project and brought with him his long and professional music experience. Sharing his knowledge for harmonics and chords, he gave to the band a new approach of melodic surroundings.
By completing solos and accentuating voices harmonics, the keyboard gives to the band his own musical path. An original Progressive Lyric Metal band was born.
