TESTIMONY:
Do not mistake, the sound is not the same. The soul and the energy is there for me to call it funky but it has a beat that bumps me around more than the funk I know and there is something strangely chaotic about its rhythm as if the tune was being bubbled out as it went along, moving in no discernible way from one point to another but taking me along for the ride anyway. Regardless of whether it was invented via those curly inkspotted hieroglyphics that music teachers read or just straight from the music-makers to the microphones, this music I am listening to presents a tasty breakfast of studio-jam spread over heartfelt and skillful instrument-toast. Just like when I first heard funk and could not really wield words to describe it in any cleverly honest way, so too I feel about DAli. All I know is what it does to me, which is make me bop around with supreme positivity and superchill easiness. So thank you, Milkshake Man, you provided me with dessert on a strick AND some fresh, crispy-cool music to balance out my diet. The pyramid is preserved and the funk has been found. If you excuse me, I am going to punch the air a few times and don't try to imagine too hard but I might just hum along."
