The story of the Dale Earnhardt Miracle Chip
It feels like it happened just yesterday. The date was February 9, 2008. Saturday night. The Daytona Budweiser Shootout.
Just like I normally do before a NASCAR race, I prepared myself with plenty of reserves of Bud Light along with lots of Wavy Lays Potato Chips. I sat down in my Lazy Boy and proceeded to watch history unfold before my very eyes as Dale Earnhardt, Jr. began a new dynasty by winning his first race with Hendrick Motor Sports.
Tears came to the edge of my eyelids, and I choked back my emotions. I took a final swig of Bud (I'll soon be switching to Amp Energy Drink), and at the bottom of my bowl of Lays Potato Chips, my eyes were afixed upon a miracle unlike any I have ever witnessed. It was as if the lights of heaven shone down right into my bowl of potato chips and lit up with glory the number 3. In my mind, I could hear Dale Earnhardt speaking and telling me that he too was watching this historic Daytona race.
I was beholden to a miracle unlike any other. Seriously.
My first thought was to partake of this chip and eat it, but my cousin immediately shouted, "Don't eat it!" I didn't.
I was going to have the Dale Earnhardt Miracle Chip (which is what my cousin said we should call it) framed, but my future wife said I should probably see if I could sell it to help raise money to fix up my house. After considering the options before me, I decided to do what was best and share this miracle with the world.
Friends, let me say this: this was not an easy decision.
Soon at some point in the near future you will have the chance to bid on this yourself.
Watch this MySpace page for further details for that near future auction detail.
