About Me

John Marshall Sauls grew up in small town, Powder Springs Ga. He always had a passion for all things musical, not unlike most future musicians. John got his first guitar when he was 9. He was a self-taught musician. He started playing in several rock bands playing loud progressive punk until he was 15 years young. Then, gradually, his musical tastes started to change. The months passed as he started listening to more independent, melodic music. One evening John was online doing some surfing when he discovered some of the most beautiful music he had ever heard. This artist, not only opened his eyes and broadened his musical horizons even more, but unlike other artists he discovered for the first time and enjoyed, the beautiful, haunting sound and literature of this one never seemed to fade. The music this man had written never got old, and never before had John been so touched by music - the music of Steven Paul Smith, much better known as Elliott Smith. Since then, John has been influenced by many artists, such as Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, Belle and Sebastian, and many many more. However, Elliott's music still remains the dearest to him. Ever since then, John has been writing, performing and recording his own music. In the summer of 2006 John moved to Kennesaw, Ga and started attending Kennesaw Mountain High, where, in turn he met Kerrick Crace. Kerrick Crace was born for music. Ever since he was about 5, he started taking piano lessons and loved it. After the 7th grade Kerrick stopped taking piano lessons and just started writing some on his own. It was around that time when he also started playing the guitar. Kerrick's grandmother bought him a cheap electric when he showed a real interest in learning to play the guitar, it came with a dvd on how to learn so he would come home every day after school and do a new lesson teaching himself. After a while Kerrick just began picking around on it finding new ways to put all the chords together and he began to become more and more proficient. In the middle of 9th grade Kerrick joined a band called Blue Phase. He and the band played at local venues around town quite often. Not only did Kerrick grow more in skill but he also gained some really good friendships. Unfortunately, during the summer the band fell apart and he decided to 'broaden his musical horizons'. He began listening to a lot of acoustic and independent music and he really wanted to have his own "style" that was unique, beautiful and that people would enjoy.Kerrick and John started playing together around January 2008 and they have been able to do a lot of different things since they both have similar interests in music and similar views on life.
