Vision
The Red Lotus envisions a more peaceful world through the popularization of meditation exercise for the improvement of mental health and environmental wellbeing.
Mission
To facilitate exposure to the variety of ancient and modern meditation techniques to manage the stress and pressures of modern living, and to encourage more mindful approaches to the social and environmental problems facing the world today. Whether sitting, walking, standing, or even lying down, the Red Lotus Society embraces all meditative traditions that recognize the nobility of thought and the sanctity of silence. Our inspirational team of volunteer teachers and facilitators offer meditation classes to the public free of charge at our center in San Diego, and through our community outreach programs. We currently have several meditation programs in the San Diego school system, from elementary to high school, designed to enhance focus and attention, as well as providing skills in anger management and stress reduction. As an extension of our mindfulness training, we are also committed to offering community services by organizing food redistribution and recycling programs to encourage responsible urban living practices. The ultimate goal of the Red Lotus Society is to build and maintain its own rural meditation retreat center to serve as a peaceful refuge for humanity, and to provide resources for the development of wisdom and compassion throughout the world.
