There is a very thin red line drawn in any genre of today's music. Most bands can't see the boundary that separates them from genre to sub-genre and can work a lifetime developing a formula for success. However, Makeshift not only saw the line, they broke it down and created their own formula for success! Formed in Welland, ON in 2006, Tom, Ian, Joel, and James have forgotten the hooks and forgotten the standard lines and combined pure raw talent with dedication and an eclectic pool of music that delivers time and time again. Drawing from the likes of The Deftones, Rage Against the Machine, 2Pac, Biggie and System of a Down, there is no wonder why such a band is creating such a stir! A proven work ethic and a business savy mind set have propelled Makeshift towards the light at the end of the tunnel. The Genius of Flow, Tommy Tantrum staples down lyrics that draw from hip hop and old school east coast gang rap, while Ian Labrie pumps out metal driven guitar power riffs that are complimented by a wide range of forged rhythms. The band is rounded out nicely by the dynamic duo of Joel on Bass and James “Da Hustlah” Lacombe on drums. You get goosebumps and a sense that there is no limit to the groove these two can put in your step. With such a well rounded line-up, you can't help but be attracted to such a power group! Makeshifts live show is a contagious blend of emotional energy and epic like anthems which quickly controls the pace of everyone's beat.
