Band Members: So, now we are here, at the last page on myspace... it's fantastic, what a view. "The Poet & The Drunk" are Mr Lundberg & Mr Flygare or maybe Mr Flygare & Mr Lundberg. Don't know. This project started because it had too. After three years with the old band it didn’t work anymore, members had different ideas and different degrees of seriousness in our ambitions. Friends move, friends disappear, and remains are the empty beer cans and an empty rehearsal-space. We had built up alot of frustration & creativity that didn't went anywhere, that didnt' have the chance to escape our heads. But through every evil comes some good reads an old proverb: So even in this case… We began to record songs ourselves. Out of boredom, out of frustration, at random, for fun… Ideas that sat well hidden in the back of our heads, ideas that couldn’t take place earlier came through. No professional studio, no producers, no other band members to consider or worry about. Two simple wills who record all by themselves: Drums, bass, guitars & vocals, even if we’re not really able to handle some of those instruments...
But it was time to create an own musical identity. Some kind of unbarked, cinematic, semi-experimental indierock. I don't know... It's us..."The Poet & The Drunk" took form during the spring/summer of 2008, and soon had Vik’s Musicfestival, Malmöfestivalen and Kafé De Luxe in Växjö the pleasure of a visit from us. The first gigs were made with the help of pre-recorded music on a Real to Real tape that we placed on the centre of the stage. More recently, however, we have brought a fully alive drummer named André. All our love to you André. We should also mention Henrik.K, Anders.O and John.C who all helped us alot!At this very moment we’re working on a full length album, the songs are recorded with our own simple equipment in the rehearsal-space in Lund or in the two-storeyed house in Knäred - far into the deep forests of south-West Sweden. It should be undisturbed and concentrated, easy and danceable, serious, rough and melodic. No censoring, both crap and cream. Mostly cream?Enjoy
