I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a 27 year old SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) to four year old Jenna and two year old Justin. Wife to Sanitation man Billy!!! I had a C-section with daughter Jenna and a VBAC with son Justin. Best informed decision I ever made along with the one to question circumcision. People I can not emphasize this enough, RESEARCH YOUR CHOICES. For me that meant specifically regarding having a VBAC v. repeat cesarean and the circumcision debate. WHAT'S POPULAR ISN'T ALWAYS RIGHT. Just because someone else does something, that doesn't neccesarily mean that that is the right choice for you or for anyone else for that matter. Things were done a certain way for a long time and then when those things are disproved and no longer have any validity to it, people still want to hold on to it for all its worth. CHANGE IS GOOD PEOPLE, don't be fearful. TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIVES. I also frequently blog about things that matter to me ( breastfeeding, circumcision, cesarean and vaginal births and other subjects), so if you aren't pro-breastfeeding, anti-circumcision and a birth activist, you might want to look the other way, because I tend to be VERY STRONG in my opinions. Thanks and have a great day.

My opinion on circumcision is this:

My Interests

Medically UNNECESSARY Cesareans suck...Just to clarify

Pregnancy
Labor
Childbirth
I'm pissed, I erased my written interests by accident. I'll get back to it another day.

I'd like to meet:

People like me with some of the same values, ideas, morals....Where are the cruchy mommas? I need those friends, since I really don't have any IRL. I need to talk to the mommas that breastfeed, keep their sons intact, co-sleep, babywear and believe in AP. Who else eats granola and wants to share?

Save the Earth, plant a tree! For every virtual tree you plant, a real tree is planted.

Music:

Truthfully, I love dance music. Untz, Untz, Untz. I love the way it feels going through my body. Sometimes, I like to drink and write while listening to that type of music. I feel it move through me like it has its own spirit. And no, I'm not some wacked out druggie. I just really feel it. I love singing and cleaning listening to music. It can be very cathartic.

Routine Infant Circumcision

This video is provided here as an educational resource for healthcare professionals and parents/guardians who are interested in learning more about what circumcision entails. Actual surgery on a baby done by a doctor in a hospital is shown, so viewer discretion is advised. More about this video can be found at the link above.Additionally, if you are interested in learning whether foreskin has any purpose from a medical perspective, you may watch that video here: http://...com/ybm7bc The first one that I think of is Contact with Jodie Foster. I love thinking that there is more out there and I'm not talking about Aliens. The universe is such a huge place and we are so close minded when faced with the possibility that there is someone out there who made us. I'm not afraid to believe.

Television:

Hahahahah is what I say to T.V. We hardly watch that anymore. I used to love TLC's Baby Story, but as I got to know birth better and better, I started realizing what a crock of shit that show is. I've written to them before about how they continue to perpetuate birth as something that is done to women and not something that women do. I would love to see more natural births on that show. But I don't watch it anymore, so if someone does see a natural positive birth, please tell me...thanks!

Books:

Currently reading:

Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan

I have been reading alot about pregnancy and childbirth lately but I read other things also. Pretty much anything else I can get my hands on. I love to read. I'm a nerd. That's how my mom used to punish me when I was younger, she would take my books from me. I would be hiding in the bathroom reading when I was supposed to be getting ready for school. Luckily, Jenna has the same love of reading. "Mom, wanna read?" Over, and over and over all day.
