About Me

About Jeff Howell :Music is my life, from making demos in our 24-track recording studio for songwriters looking for a hit, to working at our family’s business (“The Family Music Center”), to writing,(I am a BMI writer)or recording and just playing music for myself with my own young kids who are following in the family’s musical footsteps. Our store and recording studio is located in Waynesboro, Tennessee, just 100 miles south of “Music City“ - Nashville, and just 45 miles north of one of the country‘s soul & blues hot spots - Muscle Shoals, Alabama. We “Buy, Sell, Trade, and Repair” most stringed musical instruments and do electronics repair. The great thing about a high quality studio in rural Tennessee is it gives everyone who has ever written or wanted to write a song and get it recorded onto a CD to play whenever and wherever they want, a chance to make that dream come true at an affordable price. I provide all the music (I play guitar, drums, banjo, piano, etc.) and can also sing your song and help with arrangements, too. It’s your song, your music, so we make it the way you want it. To find out more, log on to our website at www.familymusiccenter.net or call (931) 722-5219 or 722-9215.I was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan after my parents moved from Waynesboro to find work in the “Motor City.” I first played on stage at Detroit’s Edge Water Park at age 12 playing guitar in my dad‘s band. By age 14, I was a regular in his band playing in local bars on the weekends. Speaking of dad, Loyd Howell, he was not only a great influence on me, but his rock-a-billy style in the late 50’s/early 60’s has become a cult classic among rock-a-billy fans both here and in Europe - check him out on Google. The family has been back in Tennessee since the late 70’s when dad opened “The Family Music Center.” Being so close to Nashville, we have continued to be involved in music and even enjoyed our “5 minutes of fame” when we performed on the cable network TNN (The Nashville Network) in the early 90’s. Before American Idol and Nashville Star, there was TNN’s “Be A Star.” With two straight wins, my two sisters and I ended up in the show’s semi-finals as “The Howell’s.” It was great fun and a worthwhile experience.I hope to hear from or see you soon. Then who knows, with a good demo, maybe we’ll hear one of your songs on the radio one day! Guitar MySpace Layouts - Fender Guitar MySpace Layouts Guitar MySpace Layouts
