Recently: Joseph Cornell, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Guillermo Kuitca. Painting, drawing, assemblage, encaustic, finding time to do these things. Buying cheap old junk from flea markets and thrift stores with which to make art. Drums, guitars, tuned percussion, pianos and keyboards, music making software. Chamblin Bookmine and trying to perpetuate a positive store-credit-to-purchases-made ratio so that I can continue to not pay money for books, not that books aren't worth spending money on.
Lately: the new Radiohead album. Broken Social Scene. Battles. Aloha.
I like many of them.
Not much...I have a coat hanger for special occasions.
Lately: The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Blood Meridian (or the Evening Redness in the West) by Cormac McCarthy. Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman. Step Across This Line by Salman Rushdie. Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susannah Clarke (thanks Doug!). The Nasty Bits by Anthony Bourdain.
Anybody that is better at something I love than I am...gives me something to work toward.
