I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I fancy myself an artist, but I jump around from project to project too rapidly to ever develop any meaningful skill, acclaim, or more importantly, any genuine opportunity for financial exploitation. Right now I make fairy wings and post makeup tutorials in my blog. Two years ago I was really into jewelery making. Before that, I fancied myself more of a fine artist, and possibly a photographer, and before that, I had several novels going, all of which were certain to catapult me to a pop-culture icon with a cultish following.
Right now I live in New Orleans. I work whatever jobs I can to make ends meet, have the most awesome friends imaginable, drink probably more than my little ole' liver would like me to, and when I'm not otherwise engaged, I'm always up to something creative. I have one of the most bizare, richly interesting inner lives you will ever encounter. Walter Mitty's got nothin' on this. It's a good life as it comes. I've known folks with worse fates.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Dreamers and thinkers, artists and lovers, poets, romantics, mystics and wanderers, people to inspire and be inspired by. Darklings, goths, angstbunnies and geeks. Drama queens and peace-makers. Those who live passionately, completely- without limits or borders, without expectations.

If you like The Sandman, Interview With the Vampire, anything by Edgar Allan Poe (especially his detective stories!) or Oscar Wilde, if you know all or parts of Daddy Long Legs or Anne of Green Gables by heart, I want to meet you.

If you still think Star Wars is the greatest movie ever made and also love The Journey of Natty Gann, Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, The Last Unicorn, The Princess Bride, The Matrix, Pirates of the Caribbean or the 2003 live-action version of Peter Pan, I'd like to meet you.

If you still listen to The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Chameleons, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus and Peter Murphy, and if you believe that black eyeliner is never a fashion blunder but a way of life, we're probably friends already and just don't know it yet. If you like Faith and the Muse, Collide, The Cruxshadows, The Last Dance, Loreena McKennit and Sarah McLachlin, then that's probably more than enough to start a friendship.

Have you ever been to New Orleans? Seattle? New York? I love those cities. I'd like to meet other people who love them, too. Do you live in London, Paris, San Francisco or anywhere in Germany? Have you been there? I envy you, but I'd love to hear your stories.
BUT
I'm not looking for romance- my heart's taken. I'm not looking to talk with people who don't share my interests. Please don't bother me with unintelligent come-ons. That'll really piss me off. And you don't want to make me angry, do you?

OK, the good news is that the infection doesn't appear to be life-threatening, which it did this morning. I'm being discharged and sent home with one more round of antibiotics. The bad news is that the...
