Victor and Patricia Gonzales the founder of Outreach America has starting a ministry, In the Prendergast District on the west side of Phoenix. The people we will be targeting are the youth. Our goal is to equip them with the knowledge of the word of God with scripture, for every day issues and concerns. So they can be used as disciples for the kingdom in there level. Jesus went to the lost on their level. When he went to the women at the well he spoke to her in a format of using the acting she was doing to inform her of who he is. Telling her she’ll never thirst again and that he is the well. OA will be using the same approach Jesus did by using iPods, music, concerts, up to date issue young people deal with every day.We find out what they like from music to sports. So we are setting up a music library and a basket ball ministry. In the music ministry we will have a list of music artist and bible studies built around the music lyrics. In the library will have different topics dealing with young issue so when they hear a song they’ll remember the bible study on it and keep it in their heart, a different way to hear the word. We don’t want to replace the bible but together they’ll in a unique way remember scriptures.In sports, basket ball is a great tool to use in evangelizing. This is a wonderful way to meet new people share the gospel and invite then to much more than having local friendships but to build new ones. Outreach America Ministries wants to be that new friend.The format we are using is from Interlinc. This program is based on music and study. If there’s a topic or issue a young person needs help with we would give them a loaner Cd with scriptures to take home. When they hear the music and put the scripture together they will remember the verses. After the music and activities are over, the bible study will start inspired b them by Holy Ghost.
