Currently a dynamic part of the bilingual hip-hop group La Verdad, rapper/singer/songwriter Starr is getting ready to make some noise with her groups upcoming sophomore album. Anxiously waiting to fill the empty throne of female rap artist of the year through talent and hard work. Bringing it in Spanish and English and adding a cultural twist, this California native Cuban/Mexican chica is giving music lovers something new to identify with. La Verdad’s music can be best described as high energy, melodic vocals over well produced bangin’ beats laced with live instrumentation. La Verdad’s DJ Phyz Ed has an impressive resume and has worked with artists such as Macy Gray, KRS One and was also the night time resident dee jay for L.A.’s radio station 100.3 The Beat. They are also joined by Unxpected who is a rapper as well as an avid guitar player and SIRE and Plan B who both deliver such different styles which lends to the groups diverse sound.Starr is a published artist with songs placed on hit shows such as “The Shield”. She is currently featured in the newly released compilation “La Costa Nuestra” available in stores and iTunes as of October 30th, 2007. Figuring herself a writer first and an artist second has led to opportunities to write for other upcoming artists as well. La Verdad has also appeared on the cable hit show “The Drop” on SiTV and received some much deserved publicity. More recently Starr can add to her list of accomplishments the opportunity of recording with legendary producer Dr. Dre on artist Bishop La Monts upcoming album.Starr has performed with La Verdad all over California, Arizona and into Mexico much to the pleasure of fans and always leaving with die hard converts.
