Well, I'm in film school, so that's a given. I've wanted to work in film since I was two, and directing is my passion. I studied and worked in theatre for five years previous. (In fact, I only started in theatre in order to work in film, and along the way I discovered I really liked it.) I never turn down an invitiation to go clubbin' (if I couldn't dance I think I'd...die?) but when I'm not there you can easily find me hangin' at home reading, writing, or catching an epsiode of Law and Order (among other shows). Music is one of the most important things in my life. I have a song for every memory, and if I feel one way and want to feel another I just change the song and I'm there. I am definitely a family and friends type of a girl. Taking my hermanitos to a movie or chillin' with my real peoples definitely takes precedence. I love watching, and occasionally playing some B Ball. Oh, and my commonality is that I love shoes.
If I put down everything I'd be out of room...lol. ..Raggaeton, Raggae, R&B, hip-hop, rap, salsa, cumbia, neo-soul... Musiq, Common, Nas, Maxwell, Donnell Jones, Blessid Union of Souls, Jagged Edge, Nina Sky, Daddy Yankee, Bob Marley, Elvis Crespo, Shakira, Celia Cruz, Lyfe Jennings, Locos por Juana, Angie Martinez, Aaliyah, Anthony Hamilton, Marvin Gaye, Counting Crows, Reik, Kanye West, Carl Thomas, India Irie, Alicia Keys...just to name a few
Way to many to name, but...my first favorites are The Neverending Story along with ET and Ghostbusters. My more recent favorites are: Goodfellas, 8 1/2, Finding Forrester, City of God, Maria Full of Grace, Pirates of the Carribean, The Spitfire Grill, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter recents (great cinematography), Deer Hunter (you gotta be prepared for this one), Like Water for Chocolate, Mi Familia, El Norte (love Dir. Gregory Nava)
Law and Order, CSI, Without a Trace, NYPD Blue, Coldcase (Yeah, I like crime shows), Making the Band III, MTV Made, Laguna Beach, America's Top Model (my guilty pleasures), Project Runway, Project Greenlight, basketball and soccer games, the Sundance channel, The Actor's Studio, Judging Amy, Charmed
First book I ever learned to read: I Love You Dear Dragon...Matilda, A Wrinkle in Time, The Great Gatsby, Ishmael, The Dirty Girls Social Club, 100 Years of Solitude, Harry Potter books, Black Boy, Wicked, Macbeth (and other Shakespeare classics), The Di Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Almost a Woman by Esmerelda Santiago, The Iliad and The Odyssy, and many many more, but my favorite is Chronicle of Death Foretold.
The ones who taught me to live life and not to let life live me...the ones who were there when others chose not to be...the ones who paved the way for people like me
