I am a young mathematician in graduate school. The road to this point, and it's definately not over, was long and hard.
I grew up in Riverbank, CA where I went to Rio Altura Elementary, Cardozo Middle School, and then Riverbank High School until my sophomore year of HS. Then I moved to Texas and attended La Joya High School. I probably could have gone to UT-Austin, or just about any school I wanted to at the time, but I chose Our Lady of the Lake University for the community atmosphere and broad programs. Little did I know I'd be a math major and want to be a professor.
It makes sense when I think about it now, I don't think I could live a day without mathematics - but I didn't always know I wanted to do this and often find myself trying to keep up with what is considered basic math knowledge (for math majors).
I love movies, music and hanging out with my friends. I goof off to no end, but always get work done in a crunch. I'm in the process of changing my time-management, which has usually worked for me but this semester is much different than others so things had to change. I'm very out-going and fun-loving, innovative and friendly. Send me a message/e-mail if you want to know more about me. I've changed a lot over time, but deep-down I'm still the same 'ol Vanessa.
