About Me

SYNOPSISRichard Lincoln was once on the path to the golden life. He had a beautiful girlfriend and was a top ranked long distance runner. But today that life and person is a fading memory. Out of a job and barely able to walk due to a nagging ankle injury, Richard spends most his time stalking his old love who is now marrying the mayor's son; a painful reality slammed home every time he sees one of the politician's campaign signs littered around town.

It isn't until he is turned onto YOURPLACE, an online community similar to MYSPACE, that Richard's situation begins to look better. In the click of a mouse button he sets up an account randomly calling himself Cubby Knowles, promoting this alter ego as a sort of the Don Juan on the net. He is destined to become the greatest lover on the web and win back his old flame's love by doing so.
Cubby starts off with a bang easily pulling women in with his cocky blend of humor and good looks. But the more women he services, the more empty and lost he feels. In this state of confusion he meets KAT, a recovering cancer patient looking to escape the realities of an upcoming operation. And through his steamy yet intimate encounters with her Richard first begins to see the big picture.
Opening up and offering her love, Kat shows Richard that in order to grow, he must confront the demons of his good life past. Will he find the strength to change or simply return to the lonely, lost soul that controlled his life? Packaged as dark romantic comedy, CK is a hilarious and at times all too scary social commentary, showing us "the horrors" of where our personal relationships are headed in this fast paced digital world.

CK will be the first film in writer / director Garth Donovan’s highly anticipated AMERICAN TRASH TRILOGY - a series of three feature films, all funded by trash - recyclable cans and scrap metal, all commenting on how American values are turning to trash.
The film proposes that we’ve become too comfortable and reliant on the instant gratification offered on-line, which has in turn undermined the patience and discipline real life relationships require. If it doesn’t happen in the click of a mouse button the “CLICK CULTURE” – today’s teeming MYSPACE/YOUTUBE generation are on to something new, something more immediately pleasing. This is dangerous because relationships in the real world require work and commitment. Using language and characters that this generation can relate to CUBBY KNOWLES sets out to warn the mouse happy to slow down because “all that clicks isn’t gold.”
