Jean-Michel has played the drums since the age of 8. After studying the drums in France, in Germany and at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern (Switzerland), he went to the Drummers Collective in New-York City. He had lessons there mainly with Kim Plainfield but also with Bobby Sanabria, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Ricky Sebastian and Mike Clark.
Jean-Michel is, since this time, French Representative for the Drummers Collective, preparing future drummers to study in NYC and to stay in shape went there several times, like in October 2007 having lessons with Leroy Clouden and Vince Cherrico.
He also went for lessons to New-Jersey, meeting the great Mr. Joe Morello.
Jean-Michel plays all kind of music, from pop, jazz, latin, funk, big-band, musical to galas. As a reader he is often asked for last minute subbing gigs.
At his own recording studio, he records drums for songs and commercials
As an Educator, Jean-Michel is teaching the drums at the Musicschool in Offenburg, (Germany), at the Konservatorium Karlsruhe (Germany) and for privat lessons
He is also leading projects for the European Union and the Jazz and Rock School Freiburg (Germany) to teach classical music teacher into pop music.
