My Dad, who always found reason to smile no matter how much he was goin through. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma July 17th of 2007 and really had a hard time with it. I remember him telling his oncologist that he had to cure it because he had kids to raise and wasnt nobody else raisin em. Our whole family has been put through the ringer dealing with radiation, chemo, Dr visits, and hospital stays. Me, my mom, and my sister felt the emotional pain where dad felt the physical pain. We've gotten good news and bad throughout his treatment, but dads always stayed strong-minded and defiant against his NHL. He underwent a stem cell transplant at the University of Louisville Hospital, but it didnt take. Weeks later he was readmitted to the hospital with e coli, staph, pseudomonas, and CMV, which then led to pneumonia and in the end, his death. My dad was always my hero, but after what he went through with the NHL in the last year of his life it only reminds me and reinforces why.
