Scott and Janet Storm met in 1992 as members of a local Southwest Washington band called ACACIA. Scott on guitar and Janet as vocalist. The band played locally until unfortunate circumstances caused the band to break up; so, Scott and Janet moved to Boston, (Janet's home turf) and continued on and eventually married, raised kids and worked 9-5 to make ends meet.
The music all but vanished from their lives for 12 years while more important endeavors like family and (unbeknownst to them) intellectual maturity and an extreme esoteric learning curve took center stage.
Fast forward to today, life dues paid, a little security under their belt, and a new world in which to start creating again. iTunes and the like now exist. MySpace exists. Home studios in today can be every bit as fantastic as the major recording labels' studios were in years past - at a fraction of the cost - and as a result, far more reachable for starving artists than they were in the ACACIA days of old.
As it seems that the name "ACACIA" has since been used plenty of times, Scott and Janet's evolution has become ACACIA STORM. Hookie is the first in a long line of thoughtful, artistically satisfying (at least for the composers) songs to be released. Stay tuned for more.
