Twiggy Ramirez

About Me

Jeordie Osborne White (born June 20, 1971), also known by his pseudonym Twiggy Ramirez (derived from Twiggy, a fashion icon, and Richard Ramirez, a convicted serial killer) is a musician and currently a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist for Goon Moon. He was previously the bassist for A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails (live only). He is also long-time bassist for Marilyn Manson (1993-2002; 2008-present). He has also contributed to the famed Desert Sessions recordings.
Personal life:
Though born in New Jersey, he moved to Florida sometime during his childhood where by his own admission he grew up on "Star Wars and heavy metal". He has three younger brothers, Westly, Dustin, and Ayden. His mother Dana was formerly a cage dancer for such bands as the Ramones, giving Jeordie famous musical contact.
White has been romantically linked to famous women in music such as Courtney Love and Jessicka of Jack Off Jill and later of Scarling. Often referred to as the male Kinderwhore, White adopted his "Twiggy Ramirez" look from his relationship with then girlfriend Jessicka and a desire to ridicule Courtney Love.
Career:
Early in his career, White was in a speed metal cover band called The Ethiopians covering songs such as Metallica's "Trapped Under Ice". Between 1989 and 1993 White played rhythm guitar, bass and provided backing vocals for Amboog-a-Lard.
Marilyn Manson (1993-2002)
White met Marilyn Manson in the early 1990's while working in a used records store in Broward Mall, Ft. Lauderdale. There the two realized they had much in common, but had yet to work on a musical endeavor. In March of 1993, White took part in Manson's side project Mrs. Scabtree. Jeordie did not join Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids until Gidget Gein was ejected from the band due to substance abuse in 1994.
White was given the Manson band member name Twiggy Ramirez, which was derived by taking the first name from English supermodel Twiggy and the surname from American serial killer Richard Ramirez.
In 1998, White made a cameo in Monster Magnet's music video for "Space Lord".
In 2001, White appeared on an MTV Cribs episode: the "Ozzfest Edition". White was an integral part of Marilyn Manson (both in the writing process and image) until he ended his long time musical partnership with Manson on May 29, 2002. It has been said that White quit the band in order to preserve his friendship with Manson rather than quarrel over the band's creative direction, and thought that it was becoming too much of a routine. After Manson (2003-2007)
After departing the band, he played two live shows with California punk metal band Mondo Generator, and auditioned for the role of second guitar in Queens of the Stone Age, which he lost to Troy Van Leeuwen of A Perfect Circle. He also auditioned for a spot as bass player (after Jason Newsted's departure) in Metallica, which is documented briefly in their film, Some Kind of Monster.
Several months later, White joined A Perfect Circle, the project of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and former Tool guitar tech Billy Howerdel as a full member of the band on bass guitar. White later joined Queens of the Stone Age front man Josh Homme on the ninth and tenth volumes of Homme's music project The Desert Sessions. He also contributed to Melissa Auf der Maur's solo debut.
White assisted in the production of Nine Inch Nails' album, With Teeth, and toured with them during 2005-06 to support the album and then again in 2007 for Year Zero. Jeordie also has his own project with desert-mainstay Chris Goss called Goon Moon, an underground "stoner rock" band. Guitarist Dave Catching is also involved along with Team Sleep/Hella drummer Zach Hill.
White has composed for an eclectic range of artists from fictional band Steel Dragon to Bif Naked to his namesake, model Twiggy Lawson with whom he recorded and produced a duet. In 2005, White worked with Goon Moon and with them released the EP I Got a Brand New Egg Layin' Machine, recorded at Rancho De La Luna, Prescription and Regime Studios. The band released their first full-length album "Licker's Last Leg" in May 2007.
White appeared on the UNKLE album War Stories playing bass and synths on the track "Burn my Shadow".
Return to Manson (2008-present)
On January 9, 2008 Marilyn Manson posted a bulletin on MySpace confirming that Twiggy Ramirez had rejoined the band in place of the recently departed Tim Skold. This has also been confirmed through a post on the Goon Moon Myspace and official Marilyn Manson website.
