About Me

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

    Robby Smith

I am a Decatur, Illinois native, born and raised. I was raised by a single mother with a ton of influence from my two aunts. I have not had a relationship with my father for over 18 years. I am a career firefighter and graduate of Millikin University where I was a member of my beloved fraternity, Kappa Sigma. I am a brother to a hilariously amazing sister, an uncle to one, unbelievable niece, and a loyal friend to Eric, Bill, Craig, Stacey, Ryan, Courtney, Jeff, Mandi, Shelby, Adam, and many more. I do not try to be something I am not. I definitely know how to have fun and I am happiest when I am with my friends and family or building/riding a motorcycle. I am driven and I always want more.

Six Guns/Cards
You may be wondering what the six gun and cards logo is all about. I originally had it engraved on the seat of my chopper and I loved it so I decided to transfer it to my website. The cards, as a whole, represent playing the hand we are all dealt in life. Specifically, the joker card represents my sense of humor and ability to hide a lot of things with a smile or a quick joke. The two of clubs represents the things in my life that that have beaten me down. The three of diamonds represents forgiveness. The four of hearts represents my family. And finally, the ace of spades, the best card in the deck, represents all the good things in my life, that’s why it’s on top.The six guns represent several things. Mostly, it’s a reminder to always “shoot people straight”. Tell it like it is and be honest. The truth will set you free.

Bikes
It’s no secret that my motorcycles are heavily influenced by Billy Lane of Choppers Inc. I have enormous respect for him and all that he has accomplished. Eventually, I hope to develop my own style that is unmistakable and just as respected as his.I like my bikes to be “bare bones” with rigid frames, springer front ends, and simple paint jobs. To me, choppers don’t have turn signals, speedometers, and horns and they are not mass produced.I will never take full credit for building my motorcycles. I have a lot of help. I learned how to and am still learning how to build bikes through a combination of self teaching, a how to book by Billy Lane, and good friends like Josh McBride of Okaw Valley Customs in Bethany, Illinois and Todd Speckman of Decatur, IL. Without Josh and Todd, I would not have my bike today and I would not be building more.Another import aspect of my motorcycles would have to include a seat by Adam Croft of Last Ride Leather (lastridecustoms.com & myspace.com/lastrideleather). He is one of the top “leather guys” in the world and a personal friend of mine.

Music
Although I have no musical talent what so ever, music is a big part of my life. Music is like a good friend, it’s always there. I have a great respect for musicians. Music is my biggest vice and causes me to spend way too much money on iTunes. I am constantly making CD’s for people. My favorite musician is Aaron Lewis. His lyrics often take the words from my mouth. My favorite song of all time is “It’s Been Awhile” by Staind.
