Proxymoron was originally founded in December 2007 as a gag/death metal band then known as Fetus Down Syndrome by Matt Neargarder and Reid Donovan. They spent the next six months enjoying decent success, and working on a 6 song demo which was never released. After a month or so of no progress and feeling it was time for change, they created Deprive the Deceased, a death metal/E-grind (digi-grind, cybergrind, whatever), doing an experimental demo with electronica band Mario Killed Pikachu. With much pleasure of how it turned out and great reception by old and new fans alike, they decided that they had found what they were looking for, picking up programmer, Richard, along the way. Tension began to arise in late 2008 as Matt and Reid both had different asparations as far as music (Matt wanting to go black metal/pornogrind - gay, and Reid wanting to further pursue E-grind). They decided to part ways in early 2009. Reid and Richard decided to change the name to Proxymoron, to better suit their style, also adding McNulty as the new lyricist (Replacing Reid). The future looks bright so expect great things, and a heavier, improved, Proxymoron.
