About Me

ILL-Spent Youth hit the Austin scene as a power-punk trio in 1999, playing live shows, backyards, and barbecues as often as possible. In 2000 they released their debut EP album, Sickboy, followed by another EP, ILL-Spent Youth (self titled). In late 2004, I.S.Y. released their first full-length album, My Town. The band's latest album, Summerfield, arrived in late 2007, following a two-year hiatus. But standout tracks like "Army of Adolescents" and “Rich Kids” made it worth the wait. With energetic off-the-wall hooks, a “tighter than a snare drum” rhythm section and a guitar that won’t quit, ILL-Spent Youth is fun for the whole dysfunctional family. The drums are driving, the bass is crashing, the guitar screams of pain, and the vocals make you want to join in, “HEY! HEY!”
