Styggmyr started up in 1999 as a trio with the bandmembers Vegard "Skarpretteren" Evensen (bass & vocals), Fredrik Wold (drums) and Erlend "Sodomized Dopehead" Kristoffersen (guitar). The band started rehearsing and making own songs, and recorded the rehearsal demo-tape "Stigma Diabolicum" in 2000. After the recording of that demo, Erlend (after starting to trade his ass for drugs) and Fredrik were kicked out of the band. Vegard hooked up with Jørgen "Skogskjelv" Mengshoel and Vanir from Eljudner after knowing them for years. Vanir had to quit the band after just 2 rehearsals because of his job that crashed with rehearsals. Styggmyr were now a duo, and started making songs for the demo "Summoning The Demons." The demo were not spread around too much, but Head Not Found ended up with a copy of it and gave Styggmyr a record deal. Styggmyr had already recorded their debut "World Massacre," and later that year (2003) Head Not Found released it. In 2004 Styggmyr added a new member to the band. Haakon "Ghoul" Johannesen joined in on drums for the recording of "Hellish Blasphemy," which Head Not Found Released in 2005. After "Hellish Blasphemy" Jørgen joined forces with Eljudner to become their bassist for a period. In 2007 the tracks for "Sathanas Supreme" were picked up again after they had been kept on ice since the recording of "World Massacre" and "Hellish Blasphemy." The tracks were collected and released as a demo CD-r. Heidenwut Productions in England thought the tracks were interesting and asked Styggmyr if they could release them on a limited 12" vinyl. Styggmyr agreed, and in the beginning of 2008 the vinyl got released. Styggmyr got a little spark again, and picked up some more tracks that had been lying for some time and recorded some of the material. Czerni Blask Productions from Poland wanted to release the tracks on a split-tape with Cryptal Spectres, and the tape will be out for sale in May 2008.
