Break The Omerta

Break The Omerta formed originally 14 years ago almost to the day, however they were known as B-to-tha-Izzo. As early front runners in the LA rap scene they opened for such artists as 2Pac, Tha Dogg Pound + Busta Caps. The band however was just Karl + Joe then, or as they were known at the time 'KRS2' + 'J-to-tha-UH-OH', but freestylin' their funked out phrases and silky seductive sonnets could only get them so far.. Enter Garry, or again, as he was known then 'Beat Commando Jam Master Dando' a free roaming DJ from 'Parts Unknown'. When close friends started getting popped they intelligently observed that they could not produce music dead. So they moved to the only place worthy of there abode's.. Newcastle! Soon after arriving, a violent freestyle battle occured with a rapper known only as 'El' (as in 'The'). When 'El' was found, lets say 'not alive anymore' things started to look memphis bleak. With Garry doing time and Karl in rehab, help and most of all 'protection' was needed. So Joe enlisted the services of original Zeppelin/Queen/Motley Crue drummer 'Lofty'. This proved a fruitful relationship, with apples, pears + kiwi's going everywhere (trading drive-by shootings for the much more pleasant drive-by fruitings). Eventually 8 years later Karl was clean, Garry was out the slammer and with him he'd brought 'The Finishing Touch' (as he's still known to this day) Matt. Matt had pretty much ran the streets from inside and took to Garry because of their legendary rap battle that went on for 3 days without sleep or mis-ryhme. These days they're sick of writing 'to-tha' in between letters and have settled for

'Break The Omerta'

which translates almost exactly into the Nicaraguan mother language as 'If god had feet, this shit would make him dance'
