'Art is a step from what is obvious and well-known toward what is arcane and concealed' - Kahlil Gibran
Italian, but 'afflicted' by an immeasurable love for English language, which quite explained why I do prefer writing in this language. If I had to choose a slogan for my life so far, it would certainly be 'shit happens', but hey, life goes on, and good friends are the best medicine ever to pass through the worst moments.
My deepest passion is cinema, since...ever. Probably since I was a kid and my mother made me watch Peter Weir's 'The Year of Living Dangerously' and Alan J. Pakula's 'All the President's Men' between Mary Poppins and other Walt Disney's cartoons. A passion which grew stronger and stronger, along with the list of my VHS's first, and now my DVD's. Before you ask, yes, I'm one of those rare who like to watch even the ending titles, who quote movie lines, who like to know directors' and screenwriters' names and who stay awake during the Oscar's. And take all your tension out during a live gig is a priceless experience. If you want to see me scream out loud in agony, DON'T make me listen to ANY blonde teenage singers. No offense, but I'm really tired of all those fake Barbie dolls who like to think they can sing. And Italian folk...O_O
THINGS I LOVE:
- Imperfection: because it makes everything much more interesting. Besides, perfection doesn't exist
- The sea in winter: because my inner child partially resides in the Nineteenth Century, and sometimes I give in to romantic-decadent-depressing scenarios...Sadness is poetic
- Reading a book, wrapped up in a warm blanket, watching the rain fall down
THINGS I HATE:
- Hypocrisyand indifference: two of the worst big bads of our time
- Italian way of style: there's no words to express how many things I dislike of my country, and it saddens me, somehow...
