The Wristbands are a 4 piece pop-punk act from El Paso created in late 2005 by Edmundo Terrazas. A year of life, love, and loss blossomed into a full length album of painfully romantic pop-punk released during the fall/winter of 2006 entitled "Project Next Summer."
The album was written and recorded by Edmundo in his home studio, with the band being built follwing it's completion. It features 17 tracks of purposefully under produced/easily reproduced live sounding grit and grandeur. The group features Edmundo on drums and lead vocals. Gregory Gonzalez on guitar and back-up vocals. Daniel Becker on bass, and Steve Herreda on keyboard. The album's release has created a small but dedicated following of fans throughout the southwest. The full length album is available for purchase online (coming soon) and at the discounted price of $5.00 at all of our live shows.
Edmundo has returned to the studio over the last several months to work on The Wristbands sophmore release. A 5 to 6 track EP featuring a slightly more produced and layered sound entitled "Exclusive Stories". It's slated for release in the Summer of 2007. Teaser tracks and acoustic versions have been released as they become available via Myspace. We hope to have the EP completed in time for a large Graduation Party in early June. This release definately has some teeth, with a darker sense of purpose following the lighter hearted "Project Next Summer." There is more screaming alongside more aggressive guitar sounds and layers of keyboards all while trying to maintain some of the romantic overtones that The Wristbands are known for.
