Steve Tromans
PIANIST : COMPOSER : ARRANGER
Welcome to the MySpace page of Steve Tromans.
Tromans has been active on the music scene since the late 80s, and has performed in concerts and festivals in Europe and Asia, as well as having led a series of acclaimed bands and recorded a series of albums in the fields of jazz and improvised music.
Between May 2006 and May 2007, he moved to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where he co-ran the country's first 100% jazz club, leading the house trio (consisting of a UK pianist, an American-Colombian bassist and Mongolian drummer). He also set up Mongolia's first Jazz Academy.
For the last five years, he has been working on his four-part "Beat Series", setting the text of four keys works of the Beat Generation - Allen Ginsberg's "Howl", Jack Kerouac's "On The Road", Gregory Corso's "Bomb", and (due for its world premiere performance later this year) William S. Burroughs' "Naked Lunch".
