Mitsuaki MATSUMOTO
born in 1975
visual artist, conposer, sound performor, scenographer
Under the name of Mathieu Martin, he develops it his work, which does not have a
particular direction nor visible form, for the goal to give to the spectators a physiological
feeling. By this point of view, he creates also scenography.
As a musician, He plays in differents contexts: acoustic improvisation music (bandoneon),
electronic sound accompaniment for the dance etc.
He also plays in collaboration with instrumentalists : a duet of the irregular-
improvisation music with Cedric Piromalli.
He plays also with Pierre Bastien, Jac berrocal, Itaru Oki.
Since 2005, he lives in Tokyo. He often collaborates with choreographers.
In collaboration with Jayachandran Palahzy, Kunihiko Matsuo, Naoki Hamanaka, he created
"Purushartha" 2006.
